Bringing new life to Brown Sites

With long experience of transforming recyclable or 'brownfield' sites, Hopkins has won acclaim for some of its major inner city regeneration projects. The company has approached the challenge of breathing new life into these sites with vigour and imagination.

Indeed, the company has earned recognition for its creative and original thinking, winning several design awards including those presented by Broadland District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council, as well as national acclaim with four annual What House? awards.

In all cases the company faced strong competition from some of the biggest names in the UK housebuilding industry. Drovers Mead, Bury St Edmunds has also been cited by the ARIBA & Zurich Building Guarantees as one of eight in the country 'to promote good design in housing'.

Traditional Crafts and the Environment

Hopkins Homes never compromises on quality, seeking out craftsmen with traditional skills and appropriate materials to enhance its schemes. Handmade willow fencemaking and pargetting are just two of the many traditional skills the company has employed.

At the same time a Hopkins home incorporates energy-saving features beyond the statutory requirements, reducing heat loss and the emission of greenhouse gases. Every property comes with its own independent energy audit.

Consideration for the environment plays a large part in the company's design concepts. Developments are attractive and desirable to live in.
