The Gateway is situated in a stunning rural location in Pickering; the official gateway to the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. This busy market town is steeped in history and enjoys a real sense of community. The town has a variety of local shops and leisure facilities for you to enjoy and benefits from easy access to the A170 connecting you to nearby Malton and York.

Directions

M1 from the South:
- At junction 44 exit onto the A64 towards York (continue through 1 roundabout)
- Take the A169/B1257 exit toward Whitby/Pickering/Malton
- At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A169 (go through one roundabout)
- The development is approximately 3/4 miles on the left handside

Shopping

At the Gateway you will discover plenty of local shops and retail offerings within easy reach of the development. Pickering contains a variety of local shops and amenities; the town centre includes a large supermarket and various local stores offering locally sourced produce.

The thriving city of York is located 40 minutes away via the A64 which provides a large offering of local and high street stores, including a designer outlet with over 120 stores to choose from.

Leisure

With the beautiful market town of Pickering on your doorstep, you will discover retail, leisure and family days out to suit all tastes. Located just a stone's throw away from the North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest you'll find miles of cycle tracks and nature walks.

For an adventurous afternoon the thrill seekers can enjoy the popular Go Ape high rope adventure course, or for a more relaxed outing enjoy a ride on Pickering's famous Steam Train, which winds through the stunning North Yorkshire Countryside.

Education

Pickering is ideally located for a number of high performing schools. Pickering infant school and St Joseph's RC primary are located close to the development; both have been rated 'good' by Ofsted.

Lady Lumley's school provides secondary education and is a short walking distance from the development. One of the top performing schools in Pickering, also rated 'Good' by Ofsted.

Transport

Pickering has fantastic transport facilities, allowing fast and easy journey times to surrounding towns and UK cities further afield.

Pickering is one of the key stops on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which offers excellent access to the East Coast of Yorkshire. Additionally our development is located approximately 33 miles away from Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Several bus routes run through this popular market town taking you to Malton, Helmsley, Leeds, York and the East Coast on the regular Coastliner. York is easily accessible from The Gateway it is approximately a 40 minute drive away via the A64.

Health

The Gateway is conveniently located to a number of healthcare facilities. Pickering Medical practise, which is open Monday to Friday is located within a 10 minute walk from the development. Malton hospital is located 8 miles from the site, and 3 local dentists are all located within a mile of the development.
