Gordon Carr Hogg established Carronvale in 1960. From its early roots in Falkirk, it is now one of Scotland's longest established and most respected national house builders and timber frame manufacturers. The name Carronvale derives from one of the company's earliest developments at Carronvale Road, Larbert. Since then Carronvale has built thousands of homes throughout Scotland, from Fraserburgh to Dumfries. Expansion was rapid and it was not long before the growth of the business forced a move to larger premises, which, in 1966, allowed a manufacturing joinery arm to be added to compliment the house building side.

Over the next 20 years, the company continued to prosper and in the late 1970s a decision was taken to adopt the timber frame method of construction throughout all Carronvale developments. The advantage of timber frame quickly became obvious, and in the 1980s Carronvale began supplying other builders and developers throughout the UK and abroad.

The success of Carronvale led to the continued expansion of the company. In 1995 to further develop the business, Andy Leck was appointed Manager of Timber Frame. Very quickly, the demand for Carronvale Timber Frame kits outgrew their premises at Bo'ness and in 1999, having acquired a 22-acre site at Wood Street in Grangemouth, Carronvale moved both divisions into their current 35,000 square feet, totally integrated factory and office premises.

After 11 successful years Andy Leck took well earned retirement and the Carronvale Group secured the services of Jim Preston as his replacement as Group Chief Executive.
