Looe's quaint lanes and streets boast a great selection of independent traders selling everything from designer merchandise to electronics to fishing rods! There are traditional food retailers – a butcher, bakery, greengrocer and fishmonger – as well as two small supermarkets one of which sells newspapers and magazines. Larger superstores such as Morrisons can be found at nearby Liskeard.

Looe Community Academy Sports Centre offers a comprehensive range of sports and leisure interests for juniors and families. All facilities are available on a 'pay as you play' basis including badminton, netball, fitness classes and table tennis. In Plymouth you can visit the Theatre Royal and Pavilions which host excellent productions and concerts and also the 3D multiplex cinemas.

Education

Looe Primary School offers a rich and varied curriculum for 4-11 year olds. For secondary education Looe Community Academy caters for 11-16 year olds. Saltash and Liskeard schools offer sixth forms whilst City College Plymouth, Plymouth College of Art and University of Plymouth are excellent establishments for further education.

Transport

No matter how you prefer to travel, St Martin is close to all types of transport. With rgeular bus services, trains and a ferry as well as air travel, you will always be able to reach your required destination quickly and easily.

Looe offers a choice of GP surgeries catering for all your family's needs. There are two dispensing chemists in town. Plymouth's Derriford Hospital is the trauma centre for the South West and offers excellent healthcare for all ages including a 24hr A&E. There is a local dentist and optician in Looe.
