As the first of McCarthy & Stone's Assisted Living developments of new-build retirement homes in Scotland, Hilltree Court, Giffnock, nears completion, the leading retirement developer is holding a special Information Day, exclusively for the over 70s, to chat through what's on offer. The event will take place on Tuesday 7th August 2012 at the Parklands Country Club on Ayr Road, Newton Mearns, and will include presentations at 11.00am and 2.00pm on life at Hilltree Court and an opportunity to find out more about McCarthy & Stone's Moving Experience service, as well as view the development plans and prices.
Moving Experience is a unique service from McCarthy & Stone that allows buyers to make a stress-free move into later living. Offering support throughout the buying and moving process, the range of benefits includes estate agents and solicitors' fees all paid; a de-cluttering and removal service with packing and unpacking; advice on interiors, with options available for carpets, curtains and furniture; and even a handyman service for those last-minute odd jobs around the house.
Moving Experience also offers a free and confidential financial health-check from a benefits advisor and once you've moved, will arrange to notify all relevant organisations to ensure change of address, utilities and final meter readings are all taken care of. And so you don't lose touch with anyone, the company gives all new homeowners a set of ‘moving home cards' to let friends and family know your new address.
Suzanne McElhiney, marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone in Scotland, says: "Moving house is stressful at any time of life but even more so as you get older. Our Information Day will offer buyers a balance of details on both the development, and the features of our helpful Moving Experience service."
Available exclusively for those over the age of 70, the new Assisted Living development in Giffnock will offer a range of one- and two-bedroom apartments, a guest suite, residents' lounge and an on-site waitress service restaurant. One hour of domestic service is provided each week as part of the service charge and personal care can be arranged on a short- or long-term basis. The development will also benefit from a 24-hour emergency call system and staff on site at all times.
Suzanne McElhiney adds: "We anticipate that our Assisted Living apartments at Hilltree Court in Giffnock will be hugely popular because we can not only offer extra day-to-day assistance to those who need it, the easily maintained apartments are designed with additional features to allow retirees to retain their independence for longer and importantly, enjoy continued homeownership."
