Ayrshire’s choice of new homes developments is bound to impress

Ayrshire has long been a popular place to live and visit and this shows no signs of waning. The recently completed M77 route has drastically cut the travel time to Glasgow, making this area even more popular with commuters. A number of Scottish housebuilders have a host of new homes on the market for buyers looking to find a property in the west of Scotland.

Situated in Kilwinning, Barratt Homes' Grangewood development offers four-bedroom townhouses as well as two- and three-bedroom houses from the company's Aspirations collection. Suitable for growing families and downsizers alike, the homes here have a contemporary feel and are close to a choice of both primary and secondary schools. Prices range from £155,995 for a three-bedroom end terrace house with family dining area, parking space and en suite, to £176,995 for a four-bedroom townhouse with garage and breakfasting kitchen.

Stewart Milne Homes has an impressive collection of four- and five-bedroom luxury homes at its Cherrytrees development in Cumnock, 15 miles east of Ayr. Two house types are currently available at the development: the four-bedroom ‘Thorntonhall', priced from £249,995 and the five-bedroom ‘Eddleston', which starts from £266,500. The former is perfect for sociable families as it features an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area with French doors leading to the garden. There is also a lounge and a separate dining room.

Two of the bedrooms include en suite facilities and there is a ‘bonus room' upstairs which would make an excellent den or play room. At the other end of the scale, the ‘Wexford' is a four-bedroom detached home with dining room and study. The master bedroom has fitted wardrobes and an en suite.

Ladykirk Place is a David Wilson Homes development in the village of Monkton on the outskirts of Prestwick. Six house styles are still available here in a choice of three-, four- or five-bedroom homes. Prices start from £156,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached property. Depending on the house type chosen, features include a garage, en suite facilities and private garden. The estate is surrounded by countryside giving it a rural feel but these new homes in Scotland are also very close to all the amenities that neighbouring Prestwick has to offer.
