Having been retired for over 20 years, Elisabeth Jordan was not really looking forward to moving home, even though her existing property in Gretton, Northamptonshire was becoming unmanageable. "Moving house can be a frightening prospect when you're in your mid-70s," says Elisabeth. "Fortunately, Taylor Wimpey held my hand throughout the process which took a lot of pressure and worry away. I didn't have to get involved in negotiating prices for my old home, which is something I wouldn't have relished. Having lived in Gretton for 42 years, Elisabeth was delighted that she did not have to move far to find a new property. She and her new neighbours have quickly established a great camaraderie and make the most of the village's amenities, which include shops, a post office, school and pubs: "It's a very welcoming and accepting community, and people who have moved to the development from outside of the area have found it very easy to settle here," she adds. "The sense of community is something people in Gretton pride themselves on, and everyone makes sure they support the village shop, use the village hall and so on."
