23-year-old Jessica Carroll impressed her guests with more than just her culinary skills when she appeared on Channel 4's cult favourite cookery show "Come Dine With Me" last week. As well as winning the cash prize for her Chinese-inspired menu, her four guests were amazed that a lady of her tender years was able to afford her new-build house at Redrow's Fox's Fold development of new homes in Lincolnshire.
Jessica says: "When the other contestants came for dinner they didn't believe it was my house because I'm so young - they thought it was owned by my parents! If I didn't have such a fantastic home like this I wouldn't have taken part in the programme. It's definitely something I'm proud to show off."
Jessica and her partner Liam bought a four-bedroom ‘Chester' house type at Fox's Fold in Barton-upon-Humber, which comes from Redrow's acclaimed New Heritage Collection of property types, boasting the space and open-plan layout to make it a perfect home in which to host friends, and even fit in a camera crew if you have to! They were able to purchase thanks to a special deal from Redrow that contributed five percent of the property price to their deposit fund and included carpets throughout the home.
"[It] was perfect for us because the homes look traditional outside but are modern inside," continues Jessica. "We don't have the time to renovate an older property and this way we don't have to. We've got the best of both worlds - a home that's full of charm but stylish too. We love socialising and really liked the layout of the ‘Chester' with its open-plan kitchen, dining area and family room, which is great for entertaining - as the dinner party I hosted for the TV programme shows."
Fox's Fold has a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses for sale, priced from £104,999. There are two show houses open at the site, which are available to view from Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 5.30pm. The Redrow team can help to point out all the features of each home type and also explain the assistance schemes available to homebuyers there. For starters, existing homeowners can enquire about a part exchange offer and there's a sweet deal for first-time buyers too, thanks to funding from the Government-backed HomeBuy shared equity scheme.
Barton-upon-Humber is an historic town surrounded by some lovely open countryside and parkland, yet well connected for easy commutes to Hull, Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Grimsby, and cross-country connections via the M180 and M62.
