Easi:buy is a great way to get on the property ladder from Redrow
House-hunters in Lancashire currently only looking at property to rent because they feel they might not be able to afford to buy should think again, as they could find the help they need to get on the property ladder at Redrow Homes' Harbour Village development in Fleetwood. The housebuilder's easi:buy shared equity scheme is available on selected plots at this waterside site, allowing them to buy a brand new home for considerably less than the market price.
With easi:buy, the purchaser is able to defer paying 20% of the asking price for up to ten years, thank to an interest-free equity loan from Redrow. This means they buy for just 80% of the price up-front, and can pay back the loan as and when they can afford to.
With full prices for homes at Harbour Village starting at £149,995, this means that buyers can get on the property ladder at the development for just £119,996, made up of a deposit and mortgage.
Julie Harper, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: "Research by estate agents Knight Frank suggests that homes on estuaries come with a premium, which means they can cost a lot more than similar properties inland, but that's not always the case. In fact we're helping to lower the cost of living on the coast with our easi:buy scheme. By deferring 20% of the price for up to ten years our customers could save more than £30,000 off the initial outlay for a four-bedroom home. Plus thanks to the improved loan-to-value ratio, lenders generally ask for a much smaller deposit."
The selection of three- and four-bedroom houses for sale right now will soon be supplemented by another phase that will include some two-bedroom homes. All these properties come from Redrow's highly acclaimed New Heritage Collection, which combine familiar architectural style with up-to-date interior layouts and modern specification.
The location of Harbour Village has already attracted many house-hunters to the scheme, drawn by proximity to the harbour and river estuary, with its abundance of seasonal wildlife. It's a great getaway location that is also well connected to the rest of the Lancashire coast and the motorway network, thanks to a convenient link to the M6 and M55.
"Research by leading academics presented to the British Psychological Society's annual conference suggests a walk on the beach has more impact on emotional wellbeing than a stroll in the park, which is great news for those make a move to Harbour Village as they'll be able to enjoy the feel good factor of being beside the sea all year round," adds Julie.
This development of new homes in Lancashire is open from Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 5.30pm, with three show homes to view and a marketing suite where the Redrow team can explain the choice of properties and incentives available.
