In a further sign that the UK housing market is improving, new home developer Barratt West Midlands has announced plans to expand its workforce. The housebuilder recently launched three new home build schemes across the region, including Dovedale Park in Perry Common, the first new site in 18 months for the division.
Construction work has also got underway on Fordbrook Court in Rushall and Fox Walk in Cradley Heath and both new home build developments will be launched in the New Year.
The new home builder will develop around 200 new homes in West Midlands.
Graydon Worthing, sales director for Barratt West Midlands commented: "Throughout this year, we have continued to deliver excellent results as a division and our confidence in the West Midlands housing market is demonstrated by the commencement of these three latest developments.
"We are delighted that we have been able to increase our workforce, as opposed to reducing employee numbers like many companies in the current climate and we are looking forward to a successful 2010."
