Residential property developer Larkfleet Homes has started work on an affordable homes scheme featuring 20 units in Bourne Road, Morton.
The development will consist of 12 two-bedroom houses, two two-bedroom bungalows and two four-bedroom houses. Some of the new homes will be available for shared ownership, while others will be offered for affordable rent through Longhurst and Havelok Homes.
Larkfleet Homes managing director Karl Hick said: "Due to reduced public investment in housing, housebuilders such as Larkfleet are unable to deliver affordable housing developments in the number that they have done in the past.
"I am therefore delighted that work is starting on these affordable properties in Morton.
"The development will enable local people to get onto the housing ladder."
Elsewhere in Bourne, Larkfleet Homes has also begun work on 33 affordable homes at its Abbeyfields development on the old Co-op site on Manning Road of which 13 will be offered through shared ownership and 20 through affordable rent.
The scheme will comprise of 108 two- and three-bedroom properties in total, with prices starting at £125,000.
