Tenants started to move into their new environmentally-friendly affordable homes on the site of an old burnt out pub in Harrow Weald this week. The scheme, which features four houses and ten flats, was developed after Origin Housing bought the land of the former Boxtree pub at the corner of Boxtree Lane and Hutton Lane after the derelict building, which had been empty for two-and-a-half years, was targeted by arsonists and badly damaged in July 2009.

Work on a development to create 16 new affordable homes on the site of the former Towermill Place sheltered accommodation in Willingdon is due to get underway within the next few months, as part of Wealden's New Build Housing Project designed to deliver around 64 new affordable homes in the area during the next two years.
