Nottingham-based builders Regent Street Developments have submitted a planning application to Mansfield District Council for the construction of new homes in Mansfield, as part of a wider mixed use development.
The developer wants to construct 11 new homes on Woodhouse Road at the junction of Birding Street, which will be a mixture of town houses and semi-detached houses, if the proposal is approved.
Additional plans include a new neighbourhood retail development, including a convenience store and two other retail units. There will also be 18 customer car parking spaces.
Charles Trafford, of Trafford Oliver, which is marketing the site on behalf of Regent Street Developments, commented: "This site has great potential and a development of this kind will really benefit the local community. It is really positive news that developers are prepared to invest in both commercial and residential developments in the area.
"There is a real opportunity to regenerate a site which has come to the end of its previous economic life. Not only will the retail units bring jobs to the area, but the development will also provide much needed housing."
