New homes are being built across Sheffield
A planning application to develop 116 new affordable homes has been approved as part of wider plans to build up to 2,300 affordable homes in Sheffield.
The new homes scheme at Park Spring Drive in Norfolk Park will be developed by the new Sheffield Housing Company, a corporation involving the council and private housebuilders, after the proposal was approved by Sheffield Council's city centre, south and east planning board.
The much needed affordable homes will be built despite some objections from a small group of residents opposed to the new properties and a proposed link road to East Bank Road.
In their report, planning officers described the planned development as a ‘well-designed and interesting scheme'.
Housebuilders are constructing a range of desirable affordable homes across Sheffield.
Taylor Wimpey is currently building a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes at Emerald Green on Green Road, with prices ranging from £71,996 to £289,995.
Nestled in rural village of Penistone, Barratt Homes is developing three- and four-bedroom contemporary new homes at Saunderson Gardens in Green Road. Prices range from £109,995 to £257,995.
