Aberdeen city councillors have given housebuilders the go-ahead to develop 737 new homes near Cove, as part of a mixed-use scheme on three adjoining sites east of Wellington Road.
New homes developers Stewart Milne Homes and Scotia Homes will develop a range of new homes in Aberdeen, including a selection of affordable homes, ranging from terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.
Scotia Homes and Stewart Milne Homes submitted the planning applications for the developments concurrently earlier this year.
Additional facilities are also expected to include new shops, open green spaces, parks and children's play areas, sports and recreation facilities, a library, community facilities and a paths network.
Sub-committee convener councillor Kate Dean commented: "I very much welcome this development, which has been the missing link in the Cove area for quite some time. The schemes will also provide the spine road which Cove has needed for many years, which will take traffic off roads that were never designed for the volumes they currently have to cope with.
"The developments will give us a good mix of homes, affordable housing, a high street and new community facilities, all of which will have a very positive impact on Cove."
