New homes in London’s West End are highly sought-after
The launch of Verge Mayfair on Oxford Street by Oakmayne Bespoke, a boutique residential scheme of ten luxury apartments and two penthouses, with a fashion inspired specification and look, is sure to appeal to wealthy national and international homebuyers looking to find a property in prime central London.
"As London's West End is becoming more residential it is attracting continental European and Asian buyers who are seeking either a London pied-a-terre or rental-investment opportunity," said Simon Barry of Knight Frank, sales agent for Verge Mayfair.
"The benefit of having Selfridges, Bond Street and South Molton Street on the doorstep is a big magnet for these overseas buyers who like luxury brand names," he added.
Over the last two years there has been a significant rise in new niche new homes schemes in the district. This is helped to raise residential values in the area from £1,200sqft, to over £2,000sqft currently.
Knight Frank highlight that the local area has benefitted from the introduction of a range of new homes, including 14 apartments at Picton Place, 66 apartments at Bolsover Street, eight new homes at 25 St James Street, and six apartments at Albermarle Street, which have raised investor appetite for residential projects in the locality.
Verge Mayfair is the latest residential scheme to be launched in the area.
Ready for occupation, Verge Mayfair provides ten apartments, ranging from chic studio-lofts to two-bedroom pads, and two penthouses, each with private rooftop terraces.
The interior architecture, specification and interior design for Verge Mayfair has been created by Oakmayne Bespoke, working in conjunction with specialist luxury design house Lambart & Browne, known for creating cool stylish interiors for high profile projects including 5 Hertford Street, Robin Birley's new ultra-chic private member's club, and the St James Theatre at 12 Palace Street.
Accessed from Dering Street, Verge Mayfair has a fashion-inspired entrance with runway lighting, iconic fashion prints and a concierge desk with a pinstripe finish created by full lengths strips of Nickel, wood and lacquer.
The 12 new homes range from 549sqft to 1,873sqft in size, each aptly named after famous fashion terminology. The fashion references continue throughout the specification with inlaid Nickel providing vertal pinstripe detailing to the fumed Oak doors throughout the apartment, Herringbone veneer to the living area paneling and kitchen units and pinstripe finishes in glass and nickel in the bathroom suites.
Already, the first phase of apartments at Verge Mayfair have successfully sold off plan, to a combination of European, UK and Asian buyers: all attracted by the quality of the apartments and the West End location.
Now Oakmayne Bespoke is releasing the second phase of apartments within Verge Mayfair for sale. Lambert & Browne has worked with Oakmayne Bespoke to create two show apartments for visitors to view. One is a studio loft, the other a two bedroom apartment.
Prices at Verge Mayfair start from £950,000 for a 549sqft studio loft; from £2.2m for a 1,066sqft two-bedroom apartment and £4.2m for a 1,507sqft penthouse.
Martin Lent, Chief Executive for the Verge Mayfair project comments: "We are delighted by the first phase of sales at Verge Mayfair which have created new benchmark values in the district, and also attracted Asian buyers who have traditionally chosen to invest in larger volume developments rather than niche schemes. The fashion-inspired branding and luxurious specification we have created for Verge Mayfair has really appealed to international buyers, and our clients have viewed the apartments as a luxury product and lifestyle choice, not just a residential investment."
