New homes builder Artesian has achieved a record price of £1,500 per sq ft for a residential property sold in Fitzrovia, a sought after part of central London, at Crabtree Place, the luxury development on Whitfield Street.

The niche housebuilder has transformed a derelict power station into a small collection of seven triplex homes and apartments. The recent sale of the penthouse has set a new level of pricing for Fitzrovia.

Artesian has created this one-off duplex apartment, accessible via a direct secure-access lift, which has been impressively designed. The top floor is flooded with light from the wrap around terrace which offers impressive views over London's skyline and the treetops of Crabtree Fields below.

On the lower floors there are two more balconies, two bedrooms and a master bedroom suite with a walk-in wardrobe and 'his and hers' bathrooms linked via an interconnecting shower. The penthouse offers impeccably designed space with state of the art audio-visual systems, under floor heating and discreet mood lighting to create a pleasant living environment.

John Ennis, New Homes and Investments director for Foxtons, appointed estate agents for the development, says: "Crabtree Place is unique, there are no comparables - products of this high quality and standard have not been produced before - and certainly not in Fitzrovia. It is an exceptional development offering an abundance of light, modern and minimalist design and quality materials and craftsmanship. Combined with its excellent location near the vibrant hubbub of Charlotte Street and Fitzrovia, it is no wonder we have applicants from every continent interested in this development."

The stylish and contemporary new build apartments in this quiet, private and gated development gives homeowners the chance to experience the very best that London property has to offer, away from the hustle and bustle from the nearby West End.

Chris Bishop, sales and marketing manager of Artesian, comments: "With very little on the market in this area and with the lateral living of the duplex penthouse apartment, the record price of £1,670 per sq ft is achieved through the prime central London location and use of outdoor space, clean lines and modern finishes. This is not the first time Artesian have exceeded the average price per sq ft for an area in central London, Queen Anne Street in Marylebone also set a record price per sq ft. As a boutique property developer, Artesian is able to create unique properties that are a rarity in prime London locations such as Crabtree Place."
