Last chance to buy an affordable home at Bermondsey South

Friday 31st August 2012

Now in its last stage of regeneration, the final phase of affordable homes in South Bermondsey will be launched by L&Q in September.

The release of the final one- and two-bedroom homes in what is considered to be one of London's best emerging areas, following vast investment over a 12 year period, presents homebuyers with the last chance to buy an affordable home in this newly revived zone two location.

There are 16 one-bedroom apartments and 48 two-bedroom apartments with selected apartments including wheelchair access.

New apartments start from £48,750 for a 25% share of a full price value of £195,000 with monthly starting prices from £780pcm. Applicants require a minimum income of £28,200 and minimum savings of £3,950 to buy a home at Bermondsey South and will be open to those living or working in the boroughs of Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich, Bromley or Bexley.

All homes at Bermondsey South feature outdoor space with either a private balcony or patio, with the added benefit of a communal garden and multi-use games area. All kitchens include integrated white goods and residents have a choice of specifications. Environmental considerations have also been made with photovoltaic panels (solar panels) generating lighting for communal areas. A cycle store is available to all residents and unrestricted parking is a plus on the surrounding streets.
