Elephant & Castle is undergoing major transformation
L&Q has launched a collection of new homes in Elephant & Castle which should appeal to range of homebuyers, including property investors.
Located in one of London's last true zone one regeneration areas, L&Q estimate that the new apartments at Ruskin Walk, Albany Place just off Camberwell Road will offer good prospects for capital growth and relatively high rental yields, with an annual rental return of about 6% reportedly achievable.
Ruskin Walk is the first phase of one and two bedroom apartments at Albany Place starting from £225,000. The scheme is set to benefit from the major regeneration of the local area. Elephant and Castle is currently undergoing a £1.5bn transformation to create thousands of new homes, a new pedestrianised town centre, plenty of retail space, large open spaces and an integrated transport hub. Ruskin Walk at Albany Place neighbours nearby Burgess Park which is currently undergoing an £8m face lift; plus Kennington Park is just a stone's throw away.
Cathy Lloyd, sales director at L&Q, says: "With excellent transport links, a stunning design, outdoor spaces and high quality apartments, Ruskin Walk is sure to prove very popular with investors. Very similar to the trendy hubs of Shoreditch, Brixton and Camberwell, Elephant and Castle is another addition to the ever popular list of up and coming areas attracting young professionals".
