ISG will build 27 new homes in Cardiff after being awarded a £2m contract by United Welsh through the Integrate framework scheme.
The developer will construct a selection of timber-frame houses and apartments to Code 3 for Sustainable Homes on a site in central Cardiff. The new home, which are scheduled to be completed in summer 2013, are sure to appeal to many people seeking to find a property in Cardiff.
According to the plans, the properties will be brick clad and fitted with roof-mounted photo voltaic panels to harness the sun's energy to provide emission free electricity. Further environmental features include permeable paving to help with drainage and a wide-ranging tree-planting programme. The development will also feature recycling points and cycle racks to promote eco-friendly behaviour.
John Rawlinson, ISG southwest managing director, told the press: "This is the second phase of this development, which we were awarded thanks to the calibre and experience of our talented local team. The scheme also represents ISG's second recent association with the famous Bute family, who previously owned this brownfield site and gave their name to Bute Park, where we have just finished the restoration of the Grade II listed West Lodge."
