New homes to be developed in Hartlepool by Yuill Homes

Date:

Thursday 24th November 2011

Housebuilder Yuill Homes has started demolition work on its old head office with a view to building 25 new homes in Hartlepool.

The developer is constructing a new housing development of 25 new two, three and four bedroom homes and one bungalow on the site of Cecil House on Loyalty Road.

David Mullins, managing director at Yuill Homes, said: "Yuill Homes has had the heart of its business in Hartlepool since our inception and we were keen to stay within the town, with many of our staff living locally.

"Cecil House was our home for many years and now we look forward to providing high quality homes for others on the site."

Yuill Homes begun by stripping the internal aspects of Cecil House out, with demolition of the exterior building shell starting last week.

Next week will see the foundations of the building being dug out and replaced by foundations for the new homes being planned.

The North East-based housebuilder received the gold award for Best Partnership Scheme of the year at the annual What House? Awards 2011, which was held in London last week, for its successful regeneration of a Longbenton housing estate, in partnership with North Tyneside Council.

David Mullins, managing director for Yuill Homes, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have received the Gold award for Best Partnership Scheme at this year's What House? Awards and are proud to have worked alongside North Tyneside Council on such an important regeneration project."
