As part of its efforts to boost the volume of affordable homes nationwide, The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) plans to increase the supply of affordable homes in Lincolnshire, as part of wider plans to construct 1,600 new homes in the Midlands by 2015.
The HCA plans to invest up to of £286m on affordable housing in the Midlands over the next four years, and has already struck a £39m deal with Waterloo Housing Group to deliver new homes in the Midlands, with a slice of that money set to be spent on new affordable homes in Lincolnshire.
Four areas, including Lincoln, will be earmarked for investment in Lincolnshire. Although it is not officially known what other locations will be included, This is Lincolnshire report that affordable homes are likely to built in Louth, Boston and Skegness. A final decision will be made by this November.
The HCA is negotiating with a wide range of new home developers regarding the construction of 13,500 new homes in the West Midlands, East Midlands, Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire by 2015.
The HCA hopes to deliver 80,000 affordable homes across England by 2015.
