Kensington Housing Trust will attempt to push affordable home sales at its Wornington Green development next year by appointing Hamptons International as the sole selling agent for the large-scale new homes scheme.
The new home development, billed as one of the largest housing regeneration projects to be undertaken in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for over 40 years, will eventually comprise of up to 1,000 new homes.
The Wornington Green development will revitalise the area with new build homes, including a number of much needed affordable homes in the Kensington and Chelsea area in west London.
Planning consent for the first phase, 5.7 hectare new homes project was awarded in March, with building work scheduled to commence on 141 private, 9 shared ownership and 174 affordable homes early next year.
Nick Vaughan, Head of Residential Development Investment at Hamptons International said, "We are delighted to be working as selling agents for this exciting development. Wornington Green is a transformational scheme which will revitalise a significant area of the Borough into a housing development with real appeal to both private buyers and investors."
He added: "Wornington Green is a clear example of a housing scheme positively meeting the needs of its local residents and is a welcome housing project for both the Borough and the Capital to help reinstate the links between Portobello Road and Ladbroke Grove. We look forward to launching the scheme in mid 2011."
