A2Dominion obtain planning for new homes in Surrey

Date:

Wednesday 2nd March 2011

New homes provider A2Dominion has secured planning consent for the next phase of Stanwell New Start regeneration scheme in Surrey which will feature 181 new build homes and a supported 44-bed care housing scheme.

The new housing development will provide a selection of new build homes, including many affordable homes. The 181 new homes will consist of 32 one-bedroom homes, 42 two-bedroom homes, 66 three-bedroom homes and 41 four-bedroom homes.

Onsite works are due to get underway by the summer, with building planned to commence in autumn 2011.

Over half of the new homes will be for affordable rent, exceeding the borough's policy requirements, whilst the remaining 111 new build homes will be for a mixture of shared ownership - part-buy part-rent - and outright sale.

David Price, A2Dominion's Director of Regeneration, said: "This is an exciting and important step forward for the Stanwell New Start regeneration scheme.

"Phases two and three will provide a mixture of new homes to meet the needs of local people, from one-bedroom apartments to larger family-sized homes, both for affordable rent and sale.

"We'll also be creating new public open spaces and play facilities for children, and we look forward to construction getting under way later this year.

"We recently launched the first new homes for sale at Stanwell New Start, and the profits from these will be helping to fund these further phases of the project."

Leader of Spelthorne Borough Council, Cllr John Packman, said: "Working in partnership with A2Dominion shows proof, if proof was needed, of our commitment to our residents in Stanwell to provide good quality modern housing.

"Together with the new community and health centre, new public open spaces and play facilities, Stanwell can look forward to an exciting future.

"Residents played a leading part in the consultation that enabled the partnership to bring forward this exciting scheme."
