New homes for sale in Suffolk – July 2011 update

Date:

Monday 11th July 2011

Numerous developers and housebuilders are currently active in the county and the market for house hunters looking for new homes in Suffolk is in great shape, with a terrific array of home types for sale at the moment. Houses and apartments are currently available in a range of urban, rural and coastal locations and you won't have to break the bank in order to afford many of them.

East Anglian regional housebuilder Hopkins Homes has a number of developments underway in Suffolk. Among the most prestigious is Tibby's Triangle, located in Southwold, one of the most popular resorts on the county's Heritage Coast. Just two homes remain for sale here: a well-appointed two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at the Kingfisher Apartments for £429,995; and a contemporary-styled two-bedroom ‘Avocet' house, set over three storeys with two bathrooms and a terrace, for £539,995.

The same housebuilder has a range of more modestly priced homes four miles inland at the market town of Halesworth. The two-, three- and four-bedroom homes at Langley's Quay are priced between £139,995 and £239,995. The town benefits from a railway station, making it a possible commuter destination.

Historic Newmarket is one of Suffolk's busiest towns and conveniently located for the city of Cambridge and the M11 motorway into London. David Wilson Homes has just a couple of homes left at its Martingales development, just east of the town in Red Lodge. There's a three-bedroom house priced £194,995 and the four-bedroom detached "Home of the Week", the ‘Woodstock', for £249,995. A part exchange programme is in place which could help buyers upgrading from another property.

Bovis Homes also has a development in Red Lodge. Sir William's Green currently has a number of house types available, from three-bedroom townhouses costing £184,950, to five-bedroom detached homes priced from £329,950. The housebuilder runs a series of incentive schemes to help first-time buyers and existing homeowners alike.

Highland Homes, who picked up a Best Small Housebuilder prize at the 2009 What House? Awards, has Meridian Gardens, an exclusive gated development set in landscaped ground with views over Newmarket Gallops. Half the 20 apartments have already been sold, with the two-bedroom properties remaining priced from £375,000.

Saxon Reach in Hessett, near Bury St Edmunds, is also over 50 per cent sold. This small village is right in the heart of the county, though convenient road links on the A14 and A134 make numerous large towns easily accessible. Knight Developments has priced two-bedroom terraces from £184,995 and a selection of three- and four-bedroom detached homes from £299,995.
