As the first homes are launched at Spirit Quarters, the Bovis Homes housing development in Coventry, the award-winning housebuilder has opened a new show home for interested house hunters to view at the site by appointment.

Around 3,000 homes are planned for the project, to be constructed over the next 15 years. It is being built by a consortium of Bovis Homes, Westbury and Keepmoat and the opening of the first show home has been hailed as a landmark moment in the history of the scheme.

The two-bedroom house is in the Conrad semi-detached style, featuring a sitting room and combined fitted kitchen/dining room leading through French doors to the back garden, along with a cloakroom downstairs and two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. The two bedrooms both feature built-in wardrobes and the smaller room would make an ideal study. This home style is priced at £114,995, which includes an allocated parking space, a perfect starter home for buyers hoping to find a property in the West Midlands at a competitive price in a good location.

Spirit Quarters is in the north east of Coventry, around five miles from the city centre, close to the M6 and M69. It will feature two-bedroom apartments and houses with two to four bedrooms, ensuring a diverse mix of buyers. The first phase of 52 homes is priced £89,995 to £189,995.

"It will be fantastic to watch Spirit Quarters growing into a community and we are really looking forward to showing the people of Coventry around and highlighting the benefits of living here," says Bovis Homes' Regional Sales Director Alison Tindle. "I think this will prove an incredibly popular development and these first homes in particular offer a great chance for someone looking to set up home and get on the property ladder."

Aimed at both first time buyers and those with an existing property to sell, Bovis Homes' offers a number of buyer assistance schemes on selected plots at Spirit Quarters. The Jumpstart shared equity scheme offers buyers 100% ownership for an initial outlay of just 85% of the purchase price. Smooth Move and Home Exchange are options for current homeowners, offering assistance in marketing your existing home, or taking it as a part exchange against the new property you're buying.

The Perfect 10 mortgage, described by the judges at the 2010 What House? Awards as "one of the most innovative housebuilder initiatives of the year", is a 90% loan-to-value mortgage product developed with Barclays/Woolwich, which requires buyers to pay just 10% as a deposit. It currently offers a two-year fixed rate of 4.99% after which it reverts to a lifetime tracker at base rate plus 2.49%. With an arrangement fee of £999, the package also includes £500 towards legal fees and free three-year unemployment protection.
