What House? Housebuilder of the Year 2010 Weston Homes is not resting on its laurels, with an official launch of its range of new apartments in Basildon's latest property hotspot, Morello Quarter. An entire floor of the new block, one of the distinctive buildings that comprises the entire 425-property scheme, is now open to homebuyers who want to experience the layout and high-quality finishes and fittings of the one- and two-bedroom homes, which are priced from £125,000 to £167,000.
Basildon's Mayor, Mo Larkin, officially opened the Block C marketing suite on 13th December, marking another step in the progress of one of the Essex's most talked-about property destinations. The ceremony followed an impressive athletic display by Max Whitlock, the Commonwealth Games medal-winning local gymnast, who was presented with a cheque from Weston Homes for £1,000 towards his travel costs as he prepares to take on the world's best at the 2012 Olympics.
The properties set a new quality standard for the area, just a half-hour rail journey from London, and Weston Homes founder and chairman, Bob Weston, is proud to offer homes fit for the capital at a price local people can afford: "Weston's trademark is to build high-quality, good-value homes in places people want to live. Morello Quarter's high-specification, spacious apartments, comparable to any in the Docklands, are incredible value for money in a location only half-an-hour's easy commute from London and in an area that is at the heart of Basildon's regeneration".
Morello Quarter itself won a Bronze award for Best Starter Home at this year's What House? Awards. It is just five minutes' walk from the station and the extensive Eastgate shopping centre. The higher floors have impressive views of the surrounding area, with some properties benefitting from en-suite facilities in the master bedroom and balconies. Common to all properties is a ready-to-move-into price that includes a fully fitted kitchen, all flooring and a parking space, along with access to the communal landscaped gardens and roof gardens.
The first phase of the £64-million scheme is entirely sold out, with 20% of the current phase already sold too. The marketing suite is open seven days a week for buyers to view the new properties and speak to Weston Homes' expert staff about the interior options available.
A whole floor of one- and two-bedroom apartments is now open at Morello Quarter, with prices starting at £125,000 and £143,000 respectively
