Overview of Newham

The Newham property market covers the following areas:

The borough of Newham stretches from Stratford to the industrial Thames dockside at north Woolwich. Victorian housing can be found in Silvertown, near the dockside at North Woolwich, as well as in Plaistow and West Ham. The best properties can be found north of West Ham Park. Canning Town comprises largely of council built tower blocks and terraces and most of the housing in Beckton is new-build two- and three-bedroom family houses located on modern estates. Victorian and mid war semis can be found to the north of Forest Gate. Large family homes, many of which are detached, feature in the south of the town. The properties around Capel Road remain popular as they overlook the open space of Wanstead Flats

Up and coming areas to buy flats and houses in Newham

Beckton has still to feel the full effect of the Docklands regeneration. Much of the area is still undeveloped from its former industrial past. Silvertown is similarly mid-regeneration. However with the most affordable property in the borough, these towns are the up and coming areas of Newham. The popularity of Stratford has also increased, since the town underwent some regeneration work and saw the Jubilee line extension. Further regeneration work is expected, and there are still some bargains to be had.
