Overview of Lewisham

The Lewisham property market covers the following areas:

Lewisham attracts buyers from both ends of the scale. Upmarket areas such as Blackheath and Sydenham are inhabited by young professionals, usually city workers keen to be close to Docklands and the City. Lewisham saw the arrival of the Docklands Light Railway in 1999, linking the town straight to Canary Wharf. Meanwhile, first time buyers and families that cannot afford Greenwich are heading towards Hither Green, Lewisham and Ladywell.

Although many of the Victorian properties were destroyed in the war, Lewisham still boasts some stunning four-storey mansions complete with sash windows. Many have since been converted into flats. Other housing in the area includes terraced properties and 1930s semi-detached homes
