Your guide to flats and houses for sale in Greenwich

If you are looking for a flat or house for sale in Greenwich then our guide to buying property, house prices and the local area should help you make an informed property decision. Our guide covers the following main areas:

Overview of Greenwich

The Greenwich property market covers the following areas:

Greenwich borough is a mass of contradictions, with top tourists attraction rubbing shoulders with sprawling council estates and redundant industrial areas. Blackheath and Greenwich have always been the choice areas for the affluent, with large period properties, up-market shops, and swanky places to eat and drink. Woolwich is on the up, with a massive development of homes on the Royal Arsenal site and a DLR station hopefully opening in 2007. Thamesmead is the hub for brand new homes and house prices in Thamesmead are lower than in other parts of the borough, although this may be due to its lack of train or tube station. Most of the borough’s housing stock is Victorian terraced and 1930s semi-detached.

The Olympics should boost the borough as Greenwich Park and the Dome plan to host events. The neglected Thames-side path is being rejuvenated and you’ll soon be able to walk from Greenwich to Thamesmead along a waterfront pathway. Woolwich is set for the biggest rejuvenation, thanks to its improved transport links. It’s also just got its first coffee house – a good indication an area is going places.
