Who we are
Origin Housing is a provider of affordable housing and care and support services in London and Hertfordshire. We own and manage over 5,500 homes and customers, have a turnover of £37 million and aim to provide great homes and build strong communities in the area.
On 1 April 2010 Origin became one organisation, bringing together Origin Group, SPH Housing and Griffin Homes. We are also exiting from residential and high care schemes and are in the process of transferring a significant 12% of housing outside London and Hertfordshire to closer providers.

These changes allow us to concentrate on services we are good at, in an area where we already have a strong presence, to forge stronger local partnerships, get closer to customers and use our resources better.

What we do
Our services provide much needed: key worker accommodation; shared ownership (part-buy/part-rent); social housing for general tenants; social housing, support and services for over 1,000 tenants and service users who are vulnerable and may have learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Origin Properties is an investment entity through which Origin is able to purchase commercial properties. Any profits made from such investments are used to help tenants and service users with their housing, care and support needs.

Behind these services are a host of workers making these homes and services available and improving our communities and the lives of customers. For example: surveyors and contractors repairing and maintaining homes; caretakers and neighbourhood officers making sure estates are clean; community development officers working with young people and helping customers get jobs and manage money better; project managers ensuring new building developments have well designed, affordable housing.
