Whether you are moving into a new home, or trying to sell your old one, the garden is a key selling point that can make or break a property deal.
Our gardens are increasingly being used to create an extended social living area, so it’s essential to maximise this space’s potential.
However, not all of us are gifted with the gardening gloves and spade, but there is help at hand, in the form of a new website called 'shoot'. The site describes itself as ‘your online garden expert’ and endeavours to provide all the help and advice you need to develop your garden and make it flourish.
Shoot has some useful features for both new and seasoned gardeners, such as its vast database of 5,000 plants including invaluable advice on which plants suit your own garden’s growing conditions, and care tips for your chosen plants.
For an annual subscription of £19.99, shoot allows you to build your own personal garden online diary and access care reminders. These monthly care reminders specific to your garden include tips for ornamentals, weeds, fruit and vegetables, covering pruning, propagating, planting and weed and disease control.
And for those who need a helping hand to kick-start their wonderful garden, shoot provides access to some fantastic expert advice and a number of design professionals who can help get your garden into shape.
Gardens for sale
But if you’ve already recognised the importance of a stunning garden, shoot has launched a ‘gardens for sale’ service. The unique new service enables green-fingered homeowners to put their gardens, as well as their houses, on the market so garden-loving buyers can find their perfect property with the ideal outdoor space.
Each garden for sale listed on shoot has a plant inventory, garden photos and a web link to the property’s main estate agent listing, and can be searched for by area, postcode and garden style. On completion, the seller can transfer their completed plant inventory and personalised care reminders to the buyer in one easy step, passing on all of their hard work.
Property expert and TV presenter Phil Spencer says: “This amazing new service by shootgardening.co.uk shows that it’s not only the inside that counts when it comes to selling your home.”
To give you a taster of the website, shoot has put together some summer gardening tips .
If you would like to access the full shoot service and receive monthly care reminders specific to the plants in your garden, please visit the website.
