This scheme enables established council tenants and some housing association tenants to purchase their rental property at a discounted price. The discount rises roughly in proportion with the number of years a tenant has paid rent, and can save the buyer up to £38,000, depending on individual circumstances.
Am I eligible?
To qualify, tenants must have been living in public sector housing or accommodation provided by the armed services for at least two years. For those who became tenants after January 2005, the minimum is five years.
