Financially savvy 23-year-old becomes young first-time buyer

After saving up since he started work as a 15-year-old paper boy, shift plant operator Ashley Corke has just secured his very own home - at the age of 23.

By putting aside his hard-earned cash from such an early age, Ashley, who is from Solihull, has been able to become a first-time buyer far earlier than most - a report from Halifax claims the average age of a first-time buyer is 30, while MoneySupermarket puts it at 37.
