Galliford Try has been appointed to construct the residential-led £17.8m Batavia Road scheme in New Cross.
The housebuilder will develop a selection of 114 new homes, on behalf of One Housing Group, including 101 for private sale, as well as shops on the ground floor of the development.
New affordable homes in St Ives
More than 100 new affordable homes have been completed in the St Ives area. The new homes, which are located on London Road and Houghton Road, are the first major developments involving affordable homes in the town in recent years. Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association is behind the scheme.

Work on a major new development to provide affordable homes for the over 55s has got underway in Cumbrian coastal town of Whitehaven.
Home Group is investing in the region of £2.56m to transform two areas of Whitehaven into new homes for local people. The development is also being part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency.
Housebuilder Mount Anvil has teamed up with housing association Affinity Sutton to develop a £100m high-end residential scheme in Fulham, west London.
The pair will build the new homes on Farm Lane, after acquiring the site for around £39m.
In another sign of confidence returning to the housing market, housebuilder Larkfleet Homes has extended the opening times of its sales offices at several developments across the East of England and East Midlands.
Larkfleet's sales offices were previously open from 10am to 5pm each day. However, sales offices will now be open until 6.30pm every Thursday - giving potential home buyers more time during the week to talk though their housing needs with sales staff.
New affordable homes in London
Fresh figures released by the Network Housing Group, based on a new report from the London Finance Commission, shows that funds derived from stamp duty from London property sales could have the potential to deliver a 91% increase in the amount of affordable homes built in the capital each year. In 2012, a total of 8,380 affordable homes were built across London's 33 boroughs.
