Scottish golfer putts Scholars Gate on the leaderboard in St Andrews

Recently, Scottish golfing legend and supporter of Arrhythmia Alliance, Bernard Gallacher OBE opened McCarthy & Stone's retirement development, Scholars Gate in St Andrews, by putting a ‘hole-in-one' in the grounds of the development.

At the event, McCarthy & Stone also took the opportunity to show their support for the Bernard Gallacher Defibrillator Campaign by donating £5,000 to the Arrhythmia Alliance - a charity that aims to ensure there is at least one public-access defibrillator at every golf club in the UK and Ireland.

From larger, lively seaside resorts to quiet coastal towns and villages, the Norfolk Coast offers plenty of variety. Most new developments are within easy reach of the historical city of Norwich, England's first UNESCO City of Literature, or other key towns such as Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth.

35% reserved at McCarthy & Stone’s Beeches Gate, Aberdeen

Despite going on sale just last month, McCarthy & Stone's retirement living development, Beeches Gate in the Craigiebuckler area of Aberdeen, has proved so popular that over 35% of the properties have been reserved off-plan.

Suzanne McElhiney, marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone in Scotland, says: "Usually we would expect to sell most of our apartments once the development is complete and ready to move into. However we have had an incredible response, particularly from local people and I'd urge interested buyers to get in touch now to avoid disappointment."
