Property developers Qatari Diar and Delancey will build up to 2,000 new homes on the site of the Olympic Village, in addition to the 2,818 new houses and apartments already being delivered, after acquiring the athletes' village development for £557m. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be repaid to taxpayers.
Jeremy Hunt, the Culture Secretary, said: ""This is a fantastic deal that will give taxpayers a great return and shows how we are securing a legacy from London's Games."
