First residents move into new riverside homes in London

The first group of residents have moved into their new homes at Barking Riverside, available through Southern Housing Group, which were recently completed.

Construction on the block of six three-bedroom houses was completed last month, marking the first of the Group's 167 new homes to be built in stage one.

Resident Nikisha Lewis said she was delighted with her new home.

Affordable homes boost for Galliford Try

New homes developer Galliford Try has signed the largest affordable housing deal to date in the Government's £1.8bn Affordable Homes Programme.

The new homes developer has been allocated £17m by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to construct close to 1,500 new homes on behalf of its housing association partner.

Galliford Try has enjoyed good fortune of late. The housebuilder posted a high level of sales following an encouraging autumn season.

Next phase of major regeneration to include 99 new homes

New homes builder Kier has been selected by Forest of Dean District Council to construct 99 new homes as part of the second phase of the regeneration of Cinderford.

According to the plans, the new build homes, which will range from range from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom houses, will be built on a vacant council-owned site in Valley Road.

Developers to build 1,300 affordable homes in Hampshire

Up to 1,300 new affordable homes will be built across Hampshire, after a consortium of housing providers successfully secured investment from the Government.

The Wayfarer Partnership - a consortium of eight different housing providers - secured the deal with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) as part of its Affordable Homes Programme, which is set to deliver 80,000 new affordable homes across England by 2015.

Developers to build 300 new affordable homes in north Hampshire

A £50m agreement has been struck between the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Sentinel Housing Association to construct over 300 new affordable homes in north Hampshire.

The HCA will invest around £5m over the next four years, with the rest of the funding coming from Sentinel, which is based in Basingstoke. Developers will build a total of 302 new affordable homes on sites from Andover to Aldershot by 2015.
