Scottish Housing Minister opens affordable homes development

Scottish housing minister Keith Brown today opened a site in the Borders which will be developed into a collection of new affordable homes, under the Scottish government's National Housing Trust (NHT) scheme.

New homes developer Tweed Homes will build 26 new homes in Galashiels and 25 new houses in Innerleithen, under the initiative.

The new homes will be initially let on a lease of five to 10 years, before being sold, with residents offered priority.
