The government has awarded Tees Valley in the North East of England close to £2m of funding to prepare sites for new home developments.

The £1.9m grant has been issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government under its growth point initiative, was launched by the Labour government to help communities seeking to build large housebuilding programmes.
