Work has started on a £38m affordable housing regeneration scheme in Maidstone, Kent. The Wood Park development, which is being led by social landlord Golding Homes, will provide 191 new homes, along with a shopping area and community facilities.

Residential property developer Persimmon Homes has teamed up with Sentinel Housing Association to develop 800 new homes in Basingstoke town centre.
The 70 acre site at Merton Rise in the north west of the town will feature 313 affordable homes to be developed by Sentinel, while Persimmon Homes will provide 471 properties for private sale.
Milton Keynes has been named as the UK's first-time buyer hotspot, where they make up almost one in 10 households (9.5%) in the town, closely followed by Dartford (9.3%) and Swindon (8.9%).
