New homes in strong demand - Countryside properties

Thursday 20th May 2010

New home developer Countryside Properties has started construction work on a further 250 new homes across the South East of England in response to an increase in sales enquiries being experienced by its sales teams.

The new homes include new phases at St Mary's Island, Chatham Maritime; Fortuna Park, Colchester and Christian Fields in Gravesend, as well as the start of a new build home development at Lymington Place in Chadwell Heath.

A recent RICS UK Housing Market Survey revealed that there has been a rise in enquiries for homes to buy, while a post election bounce is expected as vendor activity picks up.

Buyer enquires have also risen to 41% from 35%; indicating that house buyers are keen to take advantage of the financial support packages available before they run out. With this in mind, Countryside Properties is gearing up to provide a wide variety of genuinely affordable family homes with a high specification.

Ian Hepworth, Sales Director, Countryside Properties, said: "We are seeing more sales enquiries that are already working through into more homes sold. With the election over it seems that buyers are not prepared to wait any longer to make their move. If they can secure mortgage finance then they are going ahead."

"We have been helped by Government financial support schemes, with Kickstart funding helping us at both St Mary's Island and Lymington Place. For the buyer, HomeBuy Direct is providing valuable, sometimes critical, support. This funding is unlikely to be available for much longer and we urge buyers to take advantage of it while they can."

Show homes representing more than 100 new homes at St Mary's Island, Chatham Maritime are expected to be ready from June, while 50 homes, mainly two and three bed terraced new build houses will be available at Christian Fields, Gravesend in September.

Lymington Place in Chadwell Heath will provide a mix of one and two bed apartments, two, three and four bed houses, together with two bed bungalows. The new home development is expected to be launched in September, though enquiries are being taken now.

Two, three and four bedroom houses are also now selling at Fortuna Park in Colchester with prices starting from as low as £152,000.
